About this position
We are looking for a detailed oriented, and team-oriented investment professional to work as Pension Investments & Risk Analytics Associate within the Executive Secretariat of the Staff Retirement Plans department (SRP). As a member of the investment team, you will be involved in monitoring economic and market trends, asset class research, due diligence and monitoring external investment manager (EIM), risk management, compliance review, performance reporting, quantitative and financial analyses. You will also cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
The investment team is responsible for overseeing five Plans with assets totaling over $8 billion: three defined benefit pension Plans (Staff, Local and Complementary Staff), one Postretirement Benefits Plan and a Retiree Life Insurance Program. The investments are mainly managed using EIMs diversified across 14 asset classes. In addition to asset class diversification, the SRP investment team is responsible for providing inputs to the Bank’s risk management and financial accounting processes, reporting to governing committees and the Board of Directors, EIM due diligence, analyzing and assessing asset classes and economic scenarios, and managing the US TIPS portfolios.
What you’ll do
Lead the in-depth analyses and monitoring of the assigned asset class(es) and due diligence of EIMs. Support asset-liability studies and develop expected risk and return metrics for assigned asset class(es). Conduct economic and investment research and provide recommendations on portfolio decisions, including rebalancing activities, for covered asset class(es).
What you’ll need
Education: master’s degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. Candidates for CFA, CAIA or other similar certifications are strongly preferred. Risk and Project management training is a plus.
Experience: at least 3 years of professional experience in accounting, finance and/or investments, preferably with a leading institutional investor or investment consulting organization. Experience in operations, risk management, project management, pension reporting, and/or transactions strongly desired.
Languages: proficient in English and in one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese).
Systems: Proficient in Microsoft Office is required with robust Excel modeling skills. Experience with Bloomberg and any data management, analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) and ability to independently learn analytics software is strongly desired.

Type of contract and duration
Staff: International staff contract, 36 months initial term, renewable upon mutual agreement.
