HDI Rwanda works to improve health care for Rwandans through advocacy, education, and training. Key focus areas include:
• Health rights: It has set up two health centers and a call center to provide free information and services targeting the LGBTQ+ community, gender-based violence survivors, sex workers, refugees, and teens. It also offers HIV testing, family planning services, emergency contraceptives, abortion counseling, pregnancy screening, and legal aid for safe abortions.
• Policy and advocacy: It works to challenge regional laws around LGBTQ+ rights, decriminalize sex work, and promote laws around safe abortion.
