At Secours Catholique-Caritas France, nearly 58,500 volunteers and 900 employees work to combat poverty and promote solidarity in France and around the world. As a service of the Catholic Church whose mission is to support the most vulnerable, the association – created in 1946 – is active in mainland France and overseas and provides support in around fifty countries and territories in conjunction with the global Caritas Internationalis network.
MISSION: Secours Catholique addresses all causes of poverty, inequality, and exclusion. The organization engages public opinion and authorities and proposes long-term solutions. It places the participation of those it supports and strengthening everyone's ability to act together at the heart of its work.
VISION: A non-profit organization under the French law of 1901, Secours Catholique-Caritas France is managed by a board of directors chaired by Didier Duriez and a salaried management team. Its 72 branches enable it to operate as closely as possible to the local communities.
