ChildFund International works throughout Asia, Africa and the Americas to connect children with the people, resources and institutions they need to grow up healthy, educated, skilled and, above all, safe — at home, in community, at school, and online. Delivered through over 140 local implementing partner organizations, their programs address the underlying conditions that prevent any child or youth from achieving their full potential. ChildFund places a special emphasis on child protection throughout their approach because violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect can reverse developmental gains in an instant. In 2023, they reached 21.1 million children and family members in 23 countries.

APPROACH

Centering children’s voices and experience, ChildFund’s approach aims to help communities create nurturing and protective environments where children can thrive. This involves collaborating with local organizations to grow connections that:

• Strengthen relationships within families, communities, and government systems.
• Strengthen communities in support of child protection and child development, addressing children’s changing needs as they grow.
• Elevate children’s voices and agency within their communities and more broadly, engaging them in defining both problems and solutions.

ChildFund also advocates with high-level government officials and institutions as well as community leaders for broader reform and social change.
