CIX was born out of Singapore’s Emerging Stronger Taskforce’s Alliance for Action (AfA) on Sustainability, a public-private initiative to establish the country as a climate services and carbon trading hub. Headquartered in Singapore, they leverage the country’s financial, legal and commodities hub infrastructures to provide secure, highly resilient systems to serve the various needs of buyers and sellers in the global carbon market.

Their shareholders include DBS Bank, GenZero (a decarbonisation-focused investment platform founded by Temasek), Mizuho Financial Group, Singapore Exchange (SGX Group), and Standard Chartered.
