Created in 2010, IMPACT is a Geneva-based NGO and the largest independent data provider in contexts of crisis. They aim to support a range of stakeholders in making better, more informed decisions in humanitarian, stabilisation, and development settings. They believe that a key pathway to better planning and decision-making is direct engagement with local communities and their leaders.
Through their team of assessment, data, geospatial, and thematic specialists, they promote the design of people-centred research and set standards for collecting and analysing rigorous, high quality data in complex environments. IMPACT also aims to foster partnerships and build capacities with key stakeholders.
IMPACT takes an initiative-based approach to structuring their programming. Each initiative has a specific aim, operational model, and portfolio of solutions.
THEIR MISSION
To shape practices and influence policies in humanitarian and development settings in order to positively impact individuals and communities. They, as a think and do-tank, enable better and more effective decision-making by generating and promoting knowledge, tools and best-practices for humanitarian and development stakeholders. They believe that by understanding settlements through the lens of community dynamics, governance structures and socio-economic relationships, they can positively impact the lives of people, improve communities’ development pathways and contribute to a fairer world.
THEIR VISION
To act as a catalyst for change of aid practices and policies in order to sustainably impact individuals and their communities.
