Medical Teams International provides medical and dental care, humanitarian aid, and holistic development programs to all people in need, regardless of religion, nationality, sex, or race.
We respond to disasters around the world—and here at home—by sending teams of volunteer medical professionals and medical supplies to care for the sick and injured. We also mobilize long-term health promotion initiatives, collaborating with established partners within each community to ensure that our programs have a sustainable impact.
We see human suffering as a call – not just to open our hearts, but to move our feet. We are compelled by our Christian faith into action – a team, guided by compassion and magnified by expertise. We are committed to rise, mobilize, and make a difference.
Our goal is to save and/or improve the lives of over 5.5 million of the world's most suffering people by the year 2020.
What we do
Medical Teams International is on the ground responding to disaster, conflict, and poverty at home and abroad to help save and improve the lives of millions of suffering people. The core competencies of MTI are: disaster relief, dental program, community health, emergency medical services, medical supplies distribution, and medical services and training.
Disaster respond - We respond to natural and man-made disasters where needs outstrip the local capacity to respond. MTI’s key focus areas: control of communicable diseases, including malaria, diarrhea, acute respiratory infections and cholera; immunizations; malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies in vulnerable populations; psychosocial services; and disaster preparedness and risk reduction.
Dental Program - The Mobile Dental Program provides free or low-cost urgent dental care services to low-income patients who lack dental insurance or any realistic way to pay for dental treatment.
Community Health - The purpose of our Community Health programs is to improve health and to establish sustainable local health programs through education, which empowers local community members to address their own health needs.
Emergency Medical Services Program - Our Emergency Medical Care (EMC) program establishes first response services in developing countries, educating local community members with the necessary skills to respond to emergency situations with medical care.
Medical Supply Program - Our Medical Supply program acquires, packs, and distributes life-saving medicines and supplies to developing countries and volunteer medical teams around the world.
Medical Services and Training - The goal of our Medical Services and Training program is to build capacity and deliver direct healthcare services to developing countries.
